Problem
Boys and girls in Uganda, who contracted AIDS from their infected mothers in infancy, desperately want to have a future. Without access to anti-retroviral drugs to control the virus, these teens lived without hope of ever reaching adulthood...Until now! With anti-retroviral drugs recently made available to African nations, these boys and girls are now receiving the medicines needed to keep them alive, but now must learn to live positively and successfuly with the disease.
The Gift
IRT has developed TeenSAVE, a comprehensive program to help these teens live healthy lives, face their future with hope, and transition successfully into adulthood. Through TeenSAVE, IRT is conducting AIDS education, life-skills and vocational training and providing scholarships so that they can complete their education and become active and engaged members of their communities. Your gift of $25 will sponsor five boys and girls in the TeenSAVE program for one week. Your gift will help these children have the future that they never thought possible.
